We make our benches in all sizes, from a long bench at the foot of a kingsize bed, to a small footstool for one of our rockers. Our design allows for a long woven seat that seems to float, yet is supported by posts that take the weight of the frame without coming up through the seat.
We use traditional joining techniques; tenons cross-pinned in square mortises. Our finish on the wood frame is boiled linseed oil and paste wax. The Shaker tape we use is a heavy-duty cotton canvas that is durable and comfortable and comes in a wide range of colors.
We’ve made benches to put in bay windows, as seats in eating nooks, in front of fireplaces, in mudrooms, at the foot of beds. People also use them as coffee tables or long footrests infront of sofas. However you use them, they will bring you pleasure!
